I would like to ask those not in favor of a public health insurance option as part of the current health care reform effort how affordable they think private insurance policies would be for people over 65 if Medicare did not exist?

Why Not Repeal Medicare?
Why don't Congressional Republicans vote unanimously to repeal Medicare? It would cut the deficit and eliminate a government-run health insurance program (the public option for seniors).
